I feel there are great candidates running for Mayor... BUT, This is why I support Mel for Mayor!! Mel has always been there to support the students of Kaua’i, especially my daughter. Whether she is running for a pageant title or just needs help with a school project (as seen here). He will bend over backwards to help the youth of our island! And as an educator myself, I am so happy for what he has done with OUR Keiki!
-Thanks, Uncle Mel. Love, Kinohi
Aloha Mel, you have proven yourself time and time again to me personally. I have contacted you many times with county related business and you have not only tried to resolve the situation, but miraculously resolved the problems. You are the only official candidate running thus far, It's going to be a tough race for many people to vote because if the "coconut wireless' rumors are true your opponents are both "great people." However I urge the people of Kauai to not make this a popularity contest but to vote for the most qualified candidate and the candidate and that will make Kauai county better in the future, and that candidate is you. Good luck and God bless you Mayor Rapozo! (I like the sound of dat)

So honored to have witnessed his announcement... Mel Rapozo is what our island needs! This man works endlessly for the people of Kauai! He knows the struggles we face, as he faces the same himself... not only is he our council chair, he's a business owner and works a full time grave shift in the hospitality industry to provide for his family. By working overnight, he is able to give back to the community in the day! Let's get this campaign rolling!
Right man with the right focus at the right time. He is well connected with the issues facing Kauai and has the will and determination and especially the fiscal focus for effectiveness and efficiency that Kauai needs now. Vote Mel Rapozo.
I was hoping he would run! Recently I've been seeing that he's been doing the most "sticking up" for the local community! <3 it!!!! GO MEL!!!!!
For the past 7 years, I have gone to the YWCA’s Candlelight Vigil. An event that educates the community on domestic/family violence n sex assault n remembers those who died the previous year from DV.
When it’s an election year, St. Michael’s Church in Lihue is jammed pack. Not a single empty seat. Regardless of election year, Mel Rapozo n Patsy Rapozo r at the Vigil... not bc it’s politically correct to support the cause or it’s an opportunity to “score voter points,” but bc they both believe in the cause.
If u r on the fence n undecided as to who u should support for Kauai’s next Mayor, I urge u to come out n talk story with Mel n learn for urself y I believe Mel is the best qualified candidate for Mayor.
I have known Mel Rapozo for 20 years and have watched him as a council member and as its chair. He has served for 8 years, the last 2 as its Chair.
We citizens are fortunate to know that Mel is running for Mayor and I will do everything in my power to help him get elected.
He is a fighter for what the people want and need and is not beholden to any special interest or political group. He is a realist and if a project he is going after is beyond financial reach he will attack that issue from another angle as long as it is badly needed by the people.
We need a person like Mel Rapozo as our Mayor who will see a problem and being a battler will actively go after it, not just with words.
Mel Rapozo may not be a miracle man who can solve all these problems but you can bet that he will exert every ounce of his energy into trying to alleviate them.
